Yokohama participa en el rally AXCR 2025
During the Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR), the largest rally marathon in Asia, which starts today, more than 20 teams will use the Yokohama Geolandar M/T G003 high-traction tires, chosen by some of the competition leaders, such as Team Mitsubishi Ralliart and Toyota Gazoo Racing Indonesia.
The Team Mitsubishi Ralliart team, managed by Tant Sport (Thailand) with technical support from Mitsubishi, took third place in the AXCR in 2023, using an updated single-tone Triton pickup, presented just a month before the race. Last year, one of the team's crews finished fifth in the overall standings, and in 2025, three modified pickups are being entered, with one of the drivers being the 2022 AXCR winner, Chayapon Yota.
Toyota Gazoo Racing Indonesia won the 2023 race and this year intends to reclaim the championship title. The team is using two Toyota Fortuner frame SUVs, which are sold mainly in Asia, where they are very popular. The drivers are Ikou Hanawa, considered one of the best off-road drivers, and Tubagus Adi Murinsyahdi, who finished second in 2023.

Other teams, such as Isuzu Suphan Yokohama Liqui Moli Racin Team, which finished second and third last year, and Geolandar Takuma-GP Fortuner, led by the well-known driver Takuma Aoki, who won in 2023, will also be competing on Yokohama tires.

Yokohama Geolandar M/T G003 tires are designed to provide high traction in any off-road conditions and, according to the manufacturer, combine excellent off-road capability with increased durability and reliability. Previously, these tires have repeatedly proven their effectiveness in off-road racing, and, for example, were used on the vehicles of the AXCR winners in 2022-2023.

The AXCR rally, first held in 1996, is sanctioned by the FIA, and in recent years, a new route has been used, which, after starting in Thailand, passes through several other countries in Southeast Asia in diverse conditions, from jungles and beaches to plantations and even racing tracks. This year, participants will not leave Thailand, starting and finishing in Pattaya, and will cover approximately 3,250 km, which is significantly more than last year (2,100 km).
In Yokohama, it is noted that the company aims to increase sales of ADVAN and Geolandar brand tires as high-margin products, and participation in motorsports is considered one of the key ways to further strengthen their market position.
